Xbox live mic suitable for 14 year old?

Hi! Im 14 im real mature, my parents dont want me to have one. Im not the kinda kid whose gonna go on there just to cus random people becuz he thinks its funny. I wanna go on there just to be able to talk to friends and family especially my older brother, and whenever im playing with randoms i'll just helpout and talk as a teammate and stuff. Thanks
